Academic advising goes well beyond assisting students with their semester schedule of classes. The role of the academic advisor includes, but is not limited to:

Helping the student define his or her academic, intellectual, personal and career goals.
Identifying courses and experiential learning opportunities that will help the student to achieve personal and professional goals.
Being available and accessible to advisees and working with faculty to monitor students’ academic status.
Referring students to appropriate campus resources, including personal counseling when appropriate.
Encouraging awareness of and involvement in cultural and social opportunities on campus for students.
Learning the policies and requirements for graduation and clearly communicating them to advisees so that they will not be deficient in any university, college or departmental requirements.
Advising process:

Undergraduate day freshman and sophomore students must meet with and be registered by a designated academic advisor. Students with 45 or more credits earned can meet with and be registered by their designated advisor or may register online via MyLynn, pending approval by their advisor.

Undergraduate evening/online students are advised by a designated academic advisor. After an initial advising meeting and registration, students may register online for the following terms.

Welcome Aboard! The Lynn Aviation Club is a gathering place for pilots, aviators, and those who are interested in aviation to come together, talk about aviation and have a lot of fun. In this club, we plan to have guest speakers from all aspects of the aviation industry, major airshow meetups, multiple airport spotting trips each month, scholarship meetings, and so much more. We are also here to help with any issues related to the professional pilot program and the aviation major as a whole as best we can. The goal of our club is to help those who are involved in or interested in aviation here at Lynn University.

The Aeronautics Club is for ANY student who is interested in aviation. You DO NOT need to be a part of the college of aeronautics to join this club.

The Airline Pilots Association is a student-run, ALPA-sponsored Aviation Collegiate Education (ACE) Club that has been established on major aviation universities campus. Every semester, the clubs get together once or twice a month for four months and invite ALPA Airline Pilot volunteers to talk about a variety of aviation-related topics, such as crew resource management, training, and getting ready for job interviews as airline pilots. The mission of the ALPA Ace Club is to gain professional growth within the Aviation Industry, and for students to make connections and network with the ALPA Pilot Volunteers ALPA arranges yearly field trips for students to visit aviation-related sites and airline operations, in addition to providing outreach within the school community. Aspiring pilots may receive a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how airlines run and firsthand experience of what it takes to be a professional airline pilot thanks to these field trips.

Our new on-campus apartments opened in August 2022 and are designed to create a vibrant living and learning environment.

Capstone Apartments offer studios, as well as two- and four-bedroom apartments with two bathrooms. It will also provide shared amenities including a community kitchen, entertainment lounge, flexible workspace, multi-purpose room, and quiet study lounges.

The Caribbean Students United is a more than a club, but a community that honors the culture and character of all 26 Caribbean countries. This club is here to promote diversity, unity, and universal excellences that is founded here at Lynn University. While the CSU will create an educational space visually and verbally, we will also be creating a safe social space as well for any attendees. The catch phrase that will be utilized is “Divided by water, United by culture,” which is a representation of the Unity that the club will consist of. The purpose of this club is ensure that current and future students will find that even in their uniqueness of foreign background that they will find mutual interest or will expand their social connections.
