Academic advising goes well beyond assisting students with their semester schedule of classes. The role of the academic advisor includes, but is not limited to:

Helping the student define his or her academic, intellectual, personal and career goals.
Identifying courses and experiential learning opportunities that will help the student to achieve personal and professional goals.
Being available and accessible to advisees and working with faculty to monitor students’ academic status.
Referring students to appropriate campus resources, including personal counseling when appropriate.
Encouraging awareness of and involvement in cultural and social opportunities on campus for students.
Learning the policies and requirements for graduation and clearly communicating them to advisees so that they will not be deficient in any university, college or departmental requirements.
Advising process:

Undergraduate day freshman students must meet with and be registered by a designated academic advisor their first semester at Lynn, All students are able to register, drop and withdraw from courses from Workday at workday.lyn.edu.

Undergraduate online students are advised by a designated academic advisor. After an initial advising meeting and registration for your first term at Lynn, students may register on their own in Workday.

The Airline Pilots Association is a student-run, ALPA-sponsored Aviation Collegiate Education (ACE) Club that has been established on major aviation universities campus. Every semester, the clubs get together once or twice a month for four months and invite ALPA Airline Pilot volunteers to talk about a variety of aviation-related topics, such as crew resource management, training, and getting ready for job interviews as airline pilots. The mission of the ALPA Ace Club is to gain professional growth within the Aviation Industry, and for students to make connections and network with the ALPA Pilot Volunteers ALPA arranges yearly field trips for students to visit aviation-related sites and airline operations, in addition to providing outreach within the school community. Aspiring pilots may receive a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how airlines run and firsthand experience of what it takes to be a professional airline pilot thanks to these field trips.

Our mission is to equip students with the knowledge, discipline, and confidence to navigate investing, develop real strategies, and take ownership of their financial future. The Lynn Investment Club creates a collaborative, high-performance environment where members actively learn, exchange ideas, and grow together through both discussion and execution.
We differentiate ourselves by focusing on investing as a skill, not just finance as a subject. Through hands-on experience with paper trading portfolios, market analysis, and real-world simulations, members learn how to think critically, manage risk, and make informed decisions the way professional investors do.
Beyond technical skills, we are committed to building a strong pipeline into the industry. Our leadership team, composed of investment management majors with direct industry exposure and connections, actively works to connect students with the right people, resources, and opportunities early on. Members gain insight into how deals are sourced, evaluated, and executed, as well as how capital is managed at the firm level, giving them a clearer understanding of what a career in investing actually looks like.

KPOP Club consists of a diverse group of energetic, passionate students who want to expand their knowledge of a different culture, meet like minded people, have new experiences with diverse games/activities. We also believe in inclusivity and listening to the opinions of our members. One of our main priorities within KPOP Club is to help you break out of your shell and be confident in your interests as well as yourself. We want to celebrate Korean Pop culture in a fun yet appropriate setting, while commemorating blends of culture through music.

In KPOP Club you can come hang out with your besties! come meet new people, try Korean food, and experience Kpop dance cover performances! We'll go on trips, have fan based games/events, and learn how to dance like your favs in our KPOP dance classes.

The Lynn Debate Team aims to improve students’ skills in public speaking, argumentation, and persuasion. Members can participate in local, state, national, and international competitions, or simply come to practice, all in order to strengthen their academic and professional lives, as collegiate debate is listed as a top extracurricular activity employers look for given the skills involved. The commitment level is up to the individual: we have members who compete at every tournament offering and some who stop by occasionally. The team has previously competed at Yale University and the Pan-American Universities Debating Championships, along with having won events at the Florida Intercollegiate Forensic Association State Championship.

The Lynn Debate Team competes in four primary formats of debate: NPDA, LD, BP, and IPDA.

NPDA: The National Parliamentary Debate Association debate is 2-on-2, with 15 minutes of team preparation with research allowed after finding out the topic and what side you will be debating.
LD: Lincoln-Douglas debate is 1-on-1, with one topic for the full academic year
BP: British Parliamentary debate is 2-on2-vs-2-on-2, with 15 minutes of individual preparation with no research allowed after learning the topic and the role you will be debating.
IPDA: International Public Debate Association debate is 1-on-1, with 30 minutes of individual preparation with no research allowed after picking the topic and the side you will be debating from a list of 5 topics, alternating topic strikes with your opponent.

As a representative of the Lynn University community, Peer Leaders will serve as ambassadors for the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement. This is an elite leadership role on campus and Peer Leaders will be held to the standards of professional staff of the institution; we are seeking dedicated and energized student leaders who exude ideal Lynn University student characteristics. These students should be passionate about the Lynn University community and strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Peer Leaders are upper-class students who serve as a connection for new students as they transition into college life and the Lynn University community. Peer Leaders are vital in executing the New Student Transitional Program including August and January Welcome Weekends, the First 40, and peer-to-peer programming. Peer Leaders will work to establish ongoing dialogue and relationships with small groups of new students.

Founded in 1929, Psi Chi is one of the largest honor societies in the United States. It has more than 1,150 chapters and has inducted more than 750,000-lifetime members from the United States, Canada, and numerous other countries. The Lynn University Chapter of Psi honors the science and application of psychology for the benefit of humankind with a particular emphasis on building relationships between students, faculty members, and alumni.

The Lynn University Psi Chi chapter actively recognizes and promotes excellence in the science and application of psychology at Lynn University. Our mission is to create a community of psychology students who are prepared to use psychological principles in the workforce. In 1898, stepping out on a path from Farmville, Virginia, eight young women away from home and family, found each other and began their journey in friendship. These women shared a special bond as friends who regarded each other as sisters. Reaching out to others who joined them on the journey, together, they established a sisterhood called Sigma Sigma Sigma. We find friends within the bonds of Tri Sigma and we regard these friends as sisters. As we enter into a state of being Sisters, we become a Sisterhood. Tri Sigma friendships are built around our core values of faith, hope, love, wisdom and power.

Tri Sigma believes in outreach within our communities. As a dedicated, caring Sorority, we aim to serve those in need. Many of our efforts revolve around our commitment to “Sigma Serves Children,” as chapters engage in a variety of efforts for the betterment of children around the world. Coat of Arms:
Designed by Harriet Hankins, Alpha, Tri Sigma's coat of arms was adopted in 1902. Each symbol has ritualistic significance which is revealed to members following their initiation.

Badge:
Adopted in 1903, the badge of the sorority is an equilateral gold triangle, with a small semicircular indentation on each side. Reflective of the Triangle Degree—Tri Sigma’s second degree of membership—it is worn only by initiated members. The new member pin, designed by Lucy Stubbs, Alpha, is a concave triangle within a circle. Each corner of the triangle contains a Sigma.

Jewel:
Although not official until 1909, the pearl has been our designated jewel since our founding.

Flower:
The official flower is the purple violet, as they were in bloom in Farmville at the time of our founding. Additional accents were added to the official brand palette in 2017.

Colors:
Royal purple and white, adopted in the 1902 Constitution, serve as our official colors. Until that time, the colors were moss green and violet.

Symbol:
Adopted as the official symbol at the 1974 Convention, the sails must always appear full to represent an empowered sisterhood always moving forward.

Mascot:
The skull & crossbones, which appears on our member badge, is Tri Sigma’s official mascot.
